Support
Most problems come down to one of the fixes below. If none of them help, email support@ergpulse.com and include your iPhone model and iOS version.
Pairing with your PM5
- Put in your AirPods Pro 3 and check that heart rate is on in Settings › your AirPods.
- Open ErgPulse, tap Start rowing, and wait until a number appears in the dial.
- Keep ErgPulse on screen. On the PM5, choose Connect › Connect to Heart Rate, then pick ErgPulse.
- When the PM5 row in ErgPulse shows Connected, you can lock your phone.
"ErgPulse needs Health access"
iOS shows the Health permission sheet only once. If something was switched off, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps › ErgPulse › Turn On All. Then tap Start rowing again.
The dial shows -- and no heart rate
- Check that heart rate is turned on in Settings › your AirPods.
- Reseat both earbuds. If readings drop out, run the Ear Tip Fit Test in Settings › your AirPods.
- Make sure heart rate is allowed for ErgPulse in the Health app (see above).
The PM5 doesn't list ErgPulse
- ErgPulse must be open on screen while the PM5 searches. iOS hides an app's Bluetooth signal from other devices while the app is in the background.
- Check that Bluetooth is on, and that ErgPulse is allowed to use it in Settings › ErgPulse.
- If another heart rate app is broadcasting, or a chest strap is nearby and awake, the PM5 may list that instead. Close the other app or take off the strap.
Heart rate shows on the PM5 but drops out
If no new reading arrives from your AirPods for 10 seconds, ErgPulse tells the PM5 the sensor lost contact, so you never row against a frozen number. Readings come back as soon as your AirPods measure again. A good ear tip seal fixes most dropouts.
Do I need to pair every time?
Sometimes. iPhones change their Bluetooth address from time to time, so the PM5 may not recognize ErgPulse from a previous workout. Pair it again from Connect to Heart Rate.
